Paranormal Investigator by jezebel Paranormal Investigator by jezebel
The second card I did for Fantasy Flight games (Call of Cthulhu). Same style, film noir with dramatic lighting... this time the scene depicts a man who hasn't slept for days, and investigates the paranormal.

This is the size I painted at, no bigger one. :)

I like what youve done here, but there is one thing bothering me and Im not sure if you noticed it as well. His eye does not seem to fit on his face quite right - I wasnt sure if youd done that on purpose, but I just wanted to bring it up.

Otherwise, I agree with everyone else here in that this is spactacular work.

This piece shows a lot of improvement from the secretary. I dunno, maybe cause the emotion is more significant and contrast in lighting is greater?

I really like the perspective and lighting you were able to create withthis one. Near perfect if I may say. The intensity of thought is captured well in the investigator's face. I do agree that the eye is a little off, but as a small print, I don't think it would take away too much from the entire piece. All in all , really great work that doesn't disappoint :)

Great job. Love it except for the fact that well it's obvious that the man is an investigator or is at least investigating something. But I'd add another element which explains the paranormal.. Perhaps you could paint some occult symbol on the top book that's under the lamp? Or am I missing the element which says "hey, I'm investigating the paranormal!"?

Again, congrats on getting printed.

To be honest, I like Basement Secretary a bit better. It's brighter and I think the subject is more engaging visually, as far as the hair and clothing goes. Plus I think she fits her label a bit better - she looks the part of someone spying on files in the basement better than this chap looks like a paranormal investigator.

Still, this is very good and I do like it. Great work! :)

He just looks soo real! it's amazing. I really love the lighting - it's perfect... the way it dances on his shirt, glows on the books, and leaves a shadow of his chair on an already darkened wall... I have'ta say - you wouldn't know he was a paranormal investigater unless we were told... But then again he does look like he's been up for days and day working over something - so what else could he be :p

This one is a lot better than the other one, I especially love the shirt. :D

The eye seems a bit pulled to the right, I think the finger should be covering a bit of it up.

Yeah, I know all about the funkilicious eyeball about to drop out of his skull. Unfortunately it can't be changed, these have been published. The print size is small enough that it isn't noticeable anyway. :)
