A portrait of an exceptionally cruel young lady who seduced a man of great wealth and killed him for his fortune. She sits here calmly reflecting upon her actions (for which she feels little, if no remorse).
Worked on this off and on for a few days... probably around 8 hours total. Photoshop 5.5.

I love your textures. Do you make them from scratch? If so, it would be really interesting to have a tutorial on them. I really need to think of something to freehand... I love doing it!
As for the textures... yes, I make them myself. I have a few custom brushes I created that I use for a lot of that stuff. I do a lot of my background texturing similar to how people paint with watercolour. Layer upon layer upon layer of thin amounts of "paint". So by the time it builds up, I have a thick textured surface with a decent amount of variation.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
