A work in progress... just showing the steps I've done so far. I got a new Intuous 2 tablet today (yay!) and I am breaking it in with a drawing. :) (Smile)

Step 1:

Lay out base forms with broad strokes and thick values. Little focus on detail at this point.

Step 2:

Beginning to bring out details. Wrinkles on the gloves, facial features and hair.

Step 3:

Played around with the colors. Decided that I wanted something to bring out her red hair. Green = good. :) (Smile)

Step 4:

Enlarged the eye and pushed the back of the head foreward. Also decided I like her better facing the other way. Don't ask me why.

More to come soon. I'll probably post the finished piece tomorrow. :D (Big Grin)

Interesting how some minor changes can make the piece much better. I like the lighter background that contrasts with her hair... I feel like her chin could be softer.

As soon as I read the title and looked at this picture I thought of Grace Kelly... Talk about grace ;) (Wink)

Anywho, this is nice work that you are doing...showing the progression of your work, is allways great to see. That's funny about turning her in the other direction... I found that in images I've worked with too that there is something, however minor, that changes in the image for better and it leaves you with a nice surprise.

the last one in itself could be a finished product. Hopefully the finished product is much larger! :) (Smile)
