A new piece that I've been working on (off an on) since yesterday morning. I think I'm finally calling it finished... though I imagine I'll come back later and find all kinds of stuff I don't like. Hehehe.

Great work. The details are excellent. Her expression appears very accurate. And the waterfall being blown by the wind looks great.

I love the imaginnation here :) Her expression is perfect and the glow is so magical.
Details are important like the waterfall pointed out above, and those lil mushroom - yay.

I think I'm seeing what i wanna see - but it looks like a figure on th cliff above the falls...

the concept is great but the rendering is less...
dont misunderstand me, i used to study your tutorials for a long time and you are one of my fav artists!
but here everything looks so flat. the corners are painted as if this was a collage. besides, there is something smooth around the character's silhouette.. it's kinda disturbing.

however, the face and fire things look really nice.
all in all an outstanding painting.

I think the thing you're seeing around the character's figure is a faint glow. I dunno if it's really "disturbing" but it probably isn't done as well as it could be :)

As for the collage thing, I'm really not sure what you mean by that. Can you explain?

i mean each part of the painting is like applied with glue to the canvas. the character, sitting on the trunk as a front layer, then the tree, behind the tree the 3 mountains. i cant sense any space between these "layers"

but maybe you wanted it the way it is, so nvm.

Wow I really love it, the textures are so wonderful... the bark is so rough! And I really like how you shaped the faun/satyre, most people make them really human, they can't move away from our own anatomy but you took it a step further with her legs and her ears and horns! I love it!

Also the detail of the waterfall up high in the sky is awesome!

Yeah, I can see what you mean by that. I plan on going back and playing up the details in the foreground - I think that will help tie that area together a bit. I'm not very good at painting areas of grass so it ends up looking a little weird when I try. The separation between the foreground and the distant background is definitely intentional, as she's supposed to be sort of on a slope.

And yes. I do. ^_^
