I haven't been doing any painting lately. It's generally because I get frustrated at not having the skills to do the things I want to do, and of course I can't improve if I don't work on anything. It's a vicious cycle I guess.

Several weeks ago my friend suggested we set some time aside each week to work on our own creative endeavors. This seemed like an awesome idea to help me bitchslap my muse and get something done for a change. This is just a portrait study (photo referenced from [link]) but I think it's a good step towards churning out more interesting pieces. Not really going for a likeness; it's mainly just trying to improve my technique. Done in maybe 3 hours I guess.
